Workshop: Better clever than at the mercy of others! Practical workshop on positioning in unbalanced power relations

It is usually not talked about openly, but it is always present in hierarchical organizations: the question of power.

It often only becomes virulent when we feel disadvantaged, impaired or even at the mercy of others. But even before this happens, it can be helpful to look at your own positioning and representation of interests. The focus of the practical workshop is the question: How do I position myself effectively, even and especially when I find myself in a less powerful position?

Contents of the practical workshop:

Recognizing and countering power motives

Analyzing the situation in a structured way and exploring possible courses of action

Trying out communicative assertion strategies

Methodical approach:

The practical workshop depends on you bringing in and reflecting on your specific situation. A structured approach is offered for this. Selected models for classifying and confronting power mechanisms will be presented and applied in exercises.

Registration:

The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 12 people.
Participation is initially reserved for people who would also like to present their research project as part of Talk about Science! Any remaining places will be made available to other interested parties at a later date.

We therefore ask you to register using the registration form.

Venue:
